The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature at least +10°C, and the relative humidity of the air less than 80 %. A low temperature (approx. +15°C) and higher humidity (50–70 % RH) will extend the working time and make application easier.
In order to ensure the best possible adhesion, clean new wooden surfaces from any dirt and dust.
Wash previously painted or lacquered surfaces with neutral detergent according to need. Allow to dry. Remove loose paint or lacquer and sand the whole surface – especially floors and furniture. Remove sanding dust. If necessary, use Presto Rapid Filler to fill any cracks and dents, and sand the filled areas. Remove sanding dust. Patch paint with primer on bare wood surfaces.
Note! The adhesion of Multistop to certain parquet lacquers is poor, therefore the parquet lacquer should be completely removed, if Multistop is used over the entire surface.
Multistop well before use. The product is used without thinning. Apply plenty
of the paint, preferably with a thick nap roller and finish the surface once or
twice with a synthetic brush. The best insulation result is achieved when the
treatment is performed twice.
panel ceilings with Paneelikatto Panel Ceiling White, panel walls with a suitable
Helmi Furniture Paint and floors with Betolux Akva. The sealing primer can also
be left on ceiling surfaces without a topcoat as long as the surface is treated
Cleaning of tools
Remove any excess paint from tools. Wash the tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended for removing slightly hardened paint.
After the surface treatment, surfaces must be handled with care for a few weeks, as the product will reach its final hardness and durability under normal conditions after about a month.
About a month after painting at the earliest, if necessary, clean the surface using neutral (pH 6–8) dishwashing liquid solution and a soft brush, sponge or cloth. Clean soiled surfaces using mild alkaline (pH 8–10) detergent solution and a cloth, mop or sponge, for example. Rinse the surface carefully.
