Advanced water-based acrylic gloss trim and furniture paint which provides class leading levels of application and opacity.Interior trim and furniture, including doors, skirting, kitchens radiators and cabinets. Helmi is suitable for application onto metal after priming and will not yellow under heating. Helmi cures to form an incredibly tough film which can be cleaned and washed, resistance to scrubbing over 5000 cycles SFS 3755.

High performance waterbased acrylic gloss suitable for new and previously painted wooden, chipboard, wood fibre board and metal surfaces. Also suitable for repainting of surfaces previously coated with an alkyd or acid catalysed paint. See instructions.
Not suitable for repainting of surfaces previously coated with nitrocellulose lacquers.

Dust dry in approx. 1 hour.

Ready to use hardness after 2-3 days.
Lower temperature (approx. +15°C) and higher humidity (50-70 % RH) will make the open-time of the paint longer and the work easier.
Remove all dirt and dust carefully to obtain good adhesion. Treat knots with Oksalakka Knotting Lacquer. Prime new wood and wood fibre board surfaces with Helmi Primer or Otex Akva adhesion primer. Prime metal surfaces with Rostex Super Akva or Rostex Super metal primer. Prime absorbent surfaces first with a primer thinned with 5-10%, and sand. Prime surface after that with an unthinned primer.
Previously painted surfaces:
Wash down previously painted surfaces with Maalipesu Cleaning Agent and rinse carefully with water. Remove loose, flaking paint with a scraper and sand hard, glossy and industrially painted surfaces matt. Remove sanding dust. Fill holes and cracks with Presto Furniture Putty or Rapid Filler and sand the filled parts. Prime with Helmi Primer or Otex Akva adhesion primer.
The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during a couple of weeks. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, clean them lightly with a soft brush or damp cleaning cloth.
Note! If alkyd primer is used as a primer, the final adhesion into the primer is achieved after 2 weeks from the finishing painting. During this time avoid e.g. the usage of masking tape.

Consumption varies depending on the surface to be treated and its condition. Absorption is affected e.g. by the surface roughness, moisture content level of timber and porosity. For example, log surface that has been untreated for a long time takes a lot more wood finish than a new surface to be treated.When calculating the consumption, note that the consumption for round logs is 1.5 times higher than normal. Please also note the corner joints in the surface area.
